Q: When can I drop off my pet for surgery?
A: We like to have our patients here, for surgery between 7:30-8:30 am the morning of surgery. Please allow us some time as a technician will talk to you about what is involved with the procedure, discuss pre-anesthetic blood-work and provide you with a written estimate of cost, just so there are no surprises!
Q: When can I pick up my pet that was dropped off today for a procedure?
A: In most cases, a receptionist will call you to let you know when your pet may go home, but please, always call prior to picking up your pet. Generally, all of our surgeries may go home after they have fully recovered from anesthesia, usually between 5-6:30 pm. Please be sure to put down a phone number on your permission form, where we can contact you with any questions.
Q: Do I have to fast my pet prior to surgery?
A: Yes. For all anesthetic procedures, food should be withheld from your pet from 12 midnight the night before, until your pet is dropped of at our Hospital. Water is ok in moderation.
Q: Does this Hospital accept payment plans?
A: As of January 2006, Battleground Hospital for Animals no longer accepts payment plans. We require that all payments be made at the time services are rendered. We do however, offer payment plans through an outside credit company called CareCredit. These are no and low interest payments plans that can only be tailored to fit your financial needs. The application is fast and easy and can be done within minutes both in our office and online at www.carecredit.com. Please feel free to call and speak with one of our receptionists at anytime to discuss CareCredit at your convenience.
Q: What is the best way to contact one of the Doctors?
A: Of course, we keep our Doctors pretty busy but they always do our best to get all of their questions answered by the end of the day.
If you have a question you are more than welcome to call at anytime and leave a message with one of our receptionists as she will direct it to the assigned Doctor. The Doctors generally make their return calls at the end of the day, if you have an urgent problem please make this known to one of our receptionists and your call can be directed to one of our technicians that are available. You may also want to e-mail us a question and in that case you can e-mail us directly at: www.info@battlegroundhospital.com, or through your Pet Portal.
Q: What is a Veterinary Technician?
A: "Veterinary technician" means a person who has completed a minimum of 2 years in a college program that is certified according to the standards adopted by the American Veterinary Medical Association's Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities or an equivalent program, as determined by the board, and who has passed an examination prescribed by the board.
We have a combination of licensed and non-licensed Technicians that make up our team here at Battleground. All of our Technicians are knowledgeable and qualified to provide quality nursing care to all of our patients as well as answer client questions and concerns.
