Spring Wellness Promotion
In celebration of this year’s long anticipated spring, we are pleased to announce our “Spring Wellness Campaign.” From now through June 14th we are offering both our adult and geriatric wellness panels at a special promotional price!
Even when your pets is healthy, we recommend blood tests, such as a complete blood count (CBC), systemic organ system (chemistry) panel, thyroid panel and urinalysis, in order to best determine your pet’s overall health. Then, if your pet ever gets sick, we can compare your pet’s current laboratory results to the previous baseline values.
These results play a critical role in alerting our Doctors to any early or advanced stages of disease. This laboratory testing can help catch many potentially life threatening conditions early before they become serious illnesses.
Complete Blood Count (CBC) A CBC measures the number of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets in a sample of blood. The numbers of each type of cell give us information to help diagnose anemia, infections and leukemia.
Urinalysis (UA) Laboratory testing of your pet’s urine will help us detect the presence of specific substances that normally do not appear in urine, including protein, sugar, white blood cells or blood. Measuring the dilution or concentration of urine can also help diagnose illness. Urinalysis can be helpful in diagnosing urinary-tract infections, diabetes, dehydration, kidney problems and other conditions.
Blood-Chemistry Panel A blood-chemistry panel measures your pet’s enzymes and chemical elements of his blood such as calcium and phosphorous levels. These measurements help us determine how your pet’s organs, such as kidneys, pancreas and liver, are currently functioning. Blood-chemistry panels also help us to accurately diagnose and treat illness, as well as monitor your pet’s response to treatment.
Thyroid Function Test A thyroid gland that is not functioning properly may not be producing hormones that are vital to maintaining normal growth and metabolism, or it may be producing too much hormone. A thyroid profile will measure the hormone concentrations in the thyroid gland to determine if your pet’s thyroid is functioning normally.
